A BioFire Fireplace - 1 Fire = 12-24 Hours of Radiant Heat

Introduction

In this series were, are going to take a look at different kinds of fireplaces. We will be explaining how these fireplaces work and also share a comparison at the end of the series.

Gas Fireplaces - The series will start off with Gas fireplaces. We will explain the two different kinds of gas fireplaces, decorative gas fireplaces and flueless gas fireplaces.

Open Fireplaces – Open fireplaces are mostly manufactured steel boxes that either fit into the chimney or are designed as a free standing unit. A Jetmaster is a common example of an open fireplace.

Closed Combustion Fireplaces – Slow combustion wood heaters are specifically designed to maximize heat output. Some models are very efficient and provide convection heat as well as some radiant heat. Typical makes would be Morso, Jotul and Dovre to name a few.

Masonry and Radiant Heat Fireplaces – A Masonry and Radiant Heat fireplace is the most efficient way of warming a home (or any interior space). It radiates that heat over a long period of time at a fairly constant temperature. A Biofire Firepace is an example of a Radiant Heat Fireplace. One fire = 12 -24 hours of radiant heat.
