TRANSPORT – DECREASE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT BY HOPPING ON MYCiTi BUS
Did you know that you could reduce your own carbon emissions by nearly 2500kg per year simply by hopping on a bus?No matter where you are in the world, local public transportation reduces carbon emissions for every person on board. It also reduces the number of personal vehicles on the road, thereby reducing traffic congestion.
CITY OF CAPE TOWN’S VISION
The City of Cape Town launched the first network of MyCiti bus route in May 2011. The following, interconnecting MyCiti services are now operating:
- The trunk route between Table View and the Civic Centre in the city centre
- Feeder services in the areas of Table View, Blaauwberg, Parklands and Big Bay
- The Gardens-Civic- Waterfront feeder service in the city centre
- The Airport service from Cape Town International Airport to the city centre
This reliable, safe and energy efficient service aims to better those already using public transport as well as attracting motorists onto its comfortable buses. View the Routes
WHAT DOES IT COST
Gardens – Civic – Waterfront service R5per/trip
Gardens – Civic – Waterfront feeder service R10per/trip
Table View – Civic Centre main feeder service R10per/trip
West Coast feeder service R10per/trip
Airport service R50per/trip (children 4-11 years R25)
WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE
Monday – Friday:
5:45 to 6:30: every 20 minutes
6:30 a.m. to 9:00: every 10 minutes
9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.: every 20 minutes
3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.: every 10 minutes
6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.: every 20 minutes
Saturdays:
6:45 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.: every 20 minutes
Sundays:
7:45 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every 20 minutes
